The tiny twists and cables that make up traditional “Austrian” traveling stitch patterns are easy to master, if you have just a handful of tricks and tips under your belt! We will learn about these traditions and develop these skills by working a simple pattern over a square that can be used as a pocket or pouch, or even a potholder! Bring smooth, one-color yarn in a worsted weight (Yarn Council #4 weight), ideally not a dark color, preferably WOOL. Please also bring any type of knitting needle that you prefer, in a size you would normally use with this thickness of yarn (typically 4-7).
LEVEL: Able to knit and purl, cast on and bind off.
MATERIALS FEE: $5 for yarn, if needed payable to the presenter on day of workshop.
STUDENT SUPPLIES: smooth, one-color yarn in a worsted weight (Yarn Council #4 weight), ideally not a dark color, preferably WOOL; any type of knitting needle that you prefer, in a size you would normally use with this thickness of yarn (typically 4-7).
